1. Design Review & Technical Integration

   • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and interior designers to integrate IEQ strategies into the evolving design.

   • Review and comment on plans, specifications, and system layouts with an IEQ lens (e.g., HVAC zoning, window placement, finish selections).

2. Advanced Modeling and Simulation

   • Conduct or support simulations to assess and optimize:

     • Thermal comfort (PMV/PPD modeling)

     • Daylight autonomy and glare control

     • Ventilation effectiveness and CO₂ levels

     • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for airflow and contaminant dispersion

     • Acoustic performance for indoor spaces

3. Ventilation and Air Quality System Optimization

   • Fine-tune system choices for:

     • Fresh air delivery

     • Filtration (MERV/HEPA, activated carbon)

     • Humidity control

     • Source separation and exhaust ventilation

   • Recommend air quality sensors and monitoring systems.

4. Material and Finish Selection Support

   • Vet material specs to minimize off-gassing (VOCs, formaldehyde, phthalates).

   • Suggest healthier alternatives and assist with documentation for compliance with WELL, LEED, or RESET.

5. Lighting and Visual Comfort Optimization

   • Optimize daylighting strategies with glare mitigation.

   • Evaluate artificial lighting choices for circadian health, color rendering, and visual ergonomics.

   • Coordinate lighting controls (e.g., tunable lighting, occupancy sensors).

6. Acoustic Comfort Planning

   • Recommend sound absorption materials and noise control strategies.

   • Coordinate sound masking or mitigation between mechanical systems, exterior sources, and interior spaces.

7. Health Certification Support

   • Provide documentation, modeling results, and strategies needed for WELL, Fitwel, LEED (IEQ credits), RESET, or custom wellness frameworks.

   • Coordinate with commissioning agents or sustainability consultants.

8. Cost–Benefit Analysis of Health Strategies

   • Support value engineering discussions by quantifying the occupant health and productivity benefits of various design options.
